Of Hobbits and Terrorists...
I've heard some awesome rhetoric in the last several days... clip after clip of Democrats calling Republicans terrorists and claiming that they're holding America hostage... and clip after clip of liberal media mavens calling Tea Party-ers terrorists and claiming they they're holding America hostage... and clip after clip of the president using confusion, misdirection, horror, and fear, claiming that Tea Partying, Conservative Repubicans are holding grandma and grandpa hostage while feeding them dog-food and pushing them over cliffs.
Whew. Get's me all choked up, all that restraint and respectful behaviour.
Now, me, I'd love to feed Democrat politicians dog poop while stuffing them into the trunks of Cadillacs and pushing the cars over the edge of the Marianas Trench, but I'm told that I have to show restraint and be circumspect and all that. I didn't say I was GOING to, just that I'd love to. Here's the restraint part... I'm not supposed to say anything that might hurt their feelings... Freedom of Speech it's called.
The last, best thing I've heard is that those new, young Tea Party Republicans... -- there's the first inaccuracy. They are Republicans, NOT Tea Party... remember, there IS No third party -- that's what the liberals adhere to -- until the elections, when they'll swear that the racist, blood-thirsty, hate-filled Tea Party is dragging the last vestage of Republican values through the mud, etc..
... that those new, young Tea Party Republicans who insist on standing on principles and demanding that the liberals in Congress be held accountable -- that they're Hobbits.
Sweet Glory, HOBBITS!
And for once, the dirty, steenking, low-down, lying, back-stabbing, Character-assissinating, thieving Democrats, for ONCE, they might be right.
Let's recap quickly:
Hobbits:
1) they're fictional -- don't let that stop you, the Democratic politicians have never been known to deal well with reality, and they have a love of making outrageous lies up out of thin air
2) they're "little people"
3) they believed in an evil that was planning on dragging the world into an hell of earth, enslaving every man, woman, and child that lived after it had feasted on the life's blood of the populace
4) they banded together and fought, against all odds, against horrors un-speakable (but readable), against the nastiest, evilist, power-hungry, stop-at-nothing-kill-your-dog-stomp-your-grandmother-to-death-and-spit-on-her-corpse rotten animated corpses every known in the Middle Kingdom or beyond,
5) thanks to them, the world continued... they fought the evil, and won one!
SO, if you want to get on my good side, if you want to paint me as the best thing since freedom and sliced-bread, if you want to pay me the best compliment you possibly can -- call me a Hobbit.
"Oh, those bad, bad, principle-holding, small-government-minded, balanced-budget, debt-hating Hobbits!"
Thank you, you raving lunatic Democrats and liberal media idjits... you finally got something right -- even a blind hog finds an acorn every now and again.

Maybe it's time for a divorce...
Amidst all of the awful news (Tiger 0, Bimbos 5 last count; gate-crashers more important than what the politicians plan to do with us with the next TARP; Government-controlled health care living one more day; Obama still in office with no challenge; etc.), I am still grateful for the awesome things in my life. Those are too numerous to list, and I don't have time because I have to keep an eye on those lying bastage politicians! ;-)
A couple of random thoughts...
I have a friend who is married to an alcoholic, abusive, lying, gambling spouse. (Why is this a topic? Maybe because of Tiger... )
The spouse is a serial adulterer. The spouse takes money that the friend earns and spends it on gifts for paramours, sometimes on trips and food and LINGERIE. The spouse spends money like there's no tomorrow (what does the spouse care, they don't have to EARN it). The spouse is condescending to my friend, lies, breaks promises -- including the oft-repeated "I promise I'll do right, I promise I won't cheat again, I promise I'll change -- just give me ONE MORE CHANCE..."
And my friend does. People have told the friend, repeated, that the spouse is cheating. People have spoken to the SPOUSE, telling the spouse that what they are doing is wrong, that the friend deserves better. Lately, we have been telling the friend to break it off, that the marriage is well beyond saving. The friend looks sad, ignores the advice, and stays with the spouse.
I have to take exception with this because of my sense of justice. I think that a person deserves fidelity. I know that some spouses falter and may make mistakes. I believe in redemption (at any level -- human or spiritual). I believe that people should stand up for themselves and demand that fidelity. I believe in marital renewal and dedicated partners. That is what I demand for myself, and that is what I give my spouse.
Other friends say "Stay! They'll change! Give them one more chance! Beside, if you get divorced, where will you go? What will you do? You'll never find anybody else, and you'll die alone and lonely."
How long should this go on? Wouldn't it be better to break it off, date again, and find someone who is deserving? My friend may die alone and lonely, but may have pride left. Then again, there are faithful people out there who would LOVE to be in a committed relationship. Who would work for the FAMILY, not just glom onto whatever they could get for themselves.
This is a lot like what we ALL have today... those of us who value fidelity. We are all being cheated on.
Sean Hannady has repeated on his program multiple times (as have Rush and Glenn), that "we don't need a THIRD party, we need a renewed Republican Party..."
I have to take exception with this because of my sense of justice.
The "Republican Party" has strayed, cheated, lied, been condescending, gambled, spent money on members of other parties, etc. Repeatedly. Long before Reagan, but especially since. How long should voters stay in an abusive relationship?
It may be time to throw the bum out...
Maybe it IS time for a divorce --er, third party. Get out there and date again. Find the right politician, not the loons, crazies, shiftless, druggies, or any of the other in the pantheon of low-lifes willing to take over our money and our lives.
How many of us have pled with representatives to NOT abuse us? Not just republicans, but democrats alike. DON'T DO TARP (did it anyway). DON'T DO BAILOUTS (spent our money on harlots and booze, and then gave the booze to underage boys along with the keys to OUR cars). DON'T DO GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE! DON'T DO Crap and Tax! DON'T DO ...
The list goes on, and politicians on both sides ignore the people they are married to... the voters.
Maybe it's time.

Speaking truth to liberals...
The Democrats are fond of mouthing stupid dribble such saying that they (supposedly) are "speaking truth to power". The implications are two-fold... 1) that THEY have something resembling truth (which they run from if it ever gets close to them) and 2) those they are supposed to speaking "truth" to are both powerful and false.
That is about as useless as anything else they could say. I think it's time for a new ad that would be I guess Conservatives are "speaking truth to 'blah, blah, blah'. Democrats provide us with "blah, blah, blah" and we pointed out that they are just blathering...
Just to be fair, I did NOT say "Republicans" were speaking truth... they seem to have only a passing acquaintance with the truth these days. Republicans are not conservative as a group these days, and they haven't been for a while. They are SUPPOSED to be the "responsible" party, the party of fiscal responsibility, of responsible compassion, etc.
"Epic Fail"
If the Republicans ever become responsible (again?), I may become one of them. If the Libertarians every grow up (er, as a group -- I know there are some very mature ones), then I may become one of them AGAIN.
But until then, all I can do is speak the truth as I see it, and let the chops fall where they may. Oh, there's a splinter in your eye.

A Momentous time in History...
This is indeed a momentous time in History. If by slim chance the Democrats loose the upcoming election, they will be able to say that we have stolen an election against 2 democrats at once, beating out both a woman and a black thus proving that Republicans are evil, evil, evil. Unfortunately Republicans are not conservatives so it won't matter because conservatives loose either way.
Another JOTT entry.
